March 17th

On St. Patrick's Day, Andrew's real birthday, we had some cupcakes here after dinner, and there were a few more presents to open.

Andrew was able to blow out all his candles by himself.

Matthew was right in there to assist with opening the gifts!

Science Centre Adventures

Matthew's class went to the Science Centre this past week.  Andrew and Emily tagged along to join in the fun.  Here Emily was doing a little shopping.

She and Andrew liked building with the Duplo.

They had a Bob the Builder exhibit.  Here Andrew has "planted" the flowers by Wendy's Caravan and is tending to his garden with Pilchard looking on in the background.

Emily is right into the water play.

Andrew loves working with the bricks in the construction area.

We may have a musician in the family, or at least an enthusiastic air guitar participant.

Andrew loved putting on a puppet show for Emily and I.

Here is one from when we got home.  With Spring around the corner, the boys have been wearing their sunglasses everywhere.  Emily was getting into the fun trying on some specs from a doctor's kit that Andrew has.

Look Who is 4!

Well Andrew is turning 4 tomorrow. We had a little party for him on the weekend with some of his friends.  We did a cooking theme as that is something he really enjoys to do.  The kids made chocolates to take home, made up their own pizzas for supper and decorated their own cupcakes for dessert.  Here is Andrew looking at some of the cupcakes we had pre decorated for the adults, as we sang Happy Birthday.

It took a few tries to blow out all the candles.

Here he is decorating his cupcake.  All the children enjoyed doing this, but were soon done and off to play.  Andrew sat and sat working on his, delaying the present opening.   Finally after a long while working on his decorating he ate the icing and smarties, leaving the cupcake.

Andrew was lucky to receive many gifts which they had fun playing with today.  Both boys really enjoyed a magic set he had gotten.  Be prepared to be wowed if you come over to our place.  Here is Matthew doing one of the tricks.

Here is Andrew magically pulling the sword out of the stone.

Here's What We've Been Up To In March

These were downloaded in reverse order, so work backwards with me.  Matthew has been into Ninjas and we often find a mysterious Ninja around our house.

Andrew was lucky to receive a Hot Wheels crashers toy at his family birthday party.  He and Matthew have been loving playing with it.

Emily can be amazingly precise and persistent.  She has placed all these frog pegs, completing the board and is now pointing to all of them.

For Andrew's family birthday party he and Matthew wanted to decorate the cake themselves.  We got all kinds of icings and toppings ready, but in the end once it was white with a few sprinkles Andrew felt it was done and there was no changing his mind.
Bruce was itching to get Emily's hair cut as he felt it was a bit too wispy.  He took all the kids for haircuts when I was out and look what happened to Emily! Evidently it is a baby bob, but unlike one you have ever seen with patches cut right to her scalp and the "bob" going higher than the top of her ears.  Needless to say Bruce is banned from getting Emily's hair cut from here on in.

Here is Emily pre haircut at the Zoo.  We've been having great weather so we have been spending quite a few afternoons there.

Emily loves costumes and is always bringing one to us to put on her.  There are many costume changes throughout each day.  She can be pretty independent pulling up and down the zippers herself, and as you can see she even tries to put her own shoes on.

A cutie cow having a snack.

Bruce took the boys to the Monster Truck show that came to town. It was Andrew's first time.  They liked sporting their new earphones for the event.

Emily likes taking a turn with Andrew's ironing board, if she can get one.  She looks quite pleased with herself in this photo.
