Emily in White

A few people had asked to see Emily in her white dress, so here she is. She did well on the weekend for the second part of her baptism. I had thought she might not be in the best mood as it coincided with her ususal nap time, but she had a cat nap right before and was her usual cheerful self.
In the second photo you can see her with a retro 70's look wearing a dress that had been worn by her Aunt when she was a baby. Emily looked sweet in it and it reminded me of dresses worn when I was little. Now if we can only find a crocheted dress like I used to wear!
The last photo is of the guys all hamming it up on one chair to watch photos on the computer. The boys hardly know what a photo album is as we seem to rarely get photos developed anymore and tend to just watch them as a slideshow on the computer.

To Market, To Market...

In the top photo you can see Emily ready to hit the Farmer's Market this morning. Her "strawberry" hat is a wee bit stretched out as Andrew is fond of trying it on. At the market we found Emily is quite fond of the Ladybug Pastries cinnamon buns. In fact I bought two and hardly had a bite between her and Andrew. I did enjoy a Phil & Sebastian's coffee. It is worth a try for all those here who go to the market.
In the next photo you can see a nice shot of Emily and then the next one is representative of how the other 10 or so I shot turned out. She is so curious and loves to grab everything in sight, including the camera.
Finally you can see the boys joining Emily in tummy time. They both love getting right down on the floor at her level and sharing toys with her.

Another Hockey Fan?

It looks like we just might have another hockey fan in the house! Emily manages to roll, pivot and creep to get where she wants to go now. Of course as seen in the second photo an obstacle in her way can thwart her plans. Often she likes getting to the rod hockey game which is a favorite of the boys too. She seems to like red as does Matthew who says they are the Flames, against the blue which he pretends to be the Oilers or the Leafs. Matthew has been following the playoffs and has not been too disappointed with the Flames, as he always cheers for both teams. Matthew has taken chalk and transformed our driveway into a pretend hockey rink. He has been out playing with whoever will pick up a stick with him. If the action is not too fast paced Andrew rides or pushes his trike about and pretends to be the Zamboni cleaning the ice.
Matthew is back at school after break and Andrew back at his little preschool and music. Emily is having her baptism which is done in two phases at the church. The first portion was done last weekend and the rest this upcoming weekend. She had her 6 month check up yesterday and is one big girl at 71.3 cms and 18 lbs 12 ounces. That puts her well off the chart for height and near the top for weight. The boys are also very tall and everyone comments how they have sprouted up. Matthew had outgrown his bike and got a new red one with suspension and gears. He was delighted to see how much faster he could ride with the larger bike and gears to help make going up hills easier. He rode around the Glenmore Reservoir (approx 18 kms) with Bruce on the weekend. He did this distance last year, but now can do it much quicker...truly his father's son!

Go Flames Go!

Well the Flames have their first playoff game tonight and Matthew is really excited. He has been practising his goalie moves and is all ready to step in and help Kipper if he gets the call. Matthew is a huge sports fan. This amazes people who know his parents as before he developed an interest we did not really follow any organized sports and would hardly have noticed the playoffs were even upon us. We will be all watching the game against the Red Wings tonight, well at least until beditme at 7:30.
You can see Emily showered with toys Andrew has brought to her in her seat. It reminded me a bit of "Where's Waldo?". Then you can see her right up on her tummy. She can pivot all around in a circle now. If we leave her on the floor in the family room she can make her way over to the tv to "help" adjust the controls. She has discovered a love of Cheerios this week. Good thing as they are pretty much a distinct food group in our house!

Easter fun

We had a busy, fun filled Easter weekend in Edmonton visiting with some of our wonderful friends and family there. Matthew always has so much fun he wishes we could live there! We explored a bit of the big mall, did lots of playing at everyones' houses, enjoyed catching up on the latest and were treated to some fabulous meals. Matthew and Andrew were delighted to find goodies from the Easter Bunny to fill their basket on Sunday morning. Smarties and Kindersuprises are a favorites of both boys. On the weekend Emily had her "half-year-old" birthday. We do pack a lot into our trips, perhaps too much for a 6 month old girl looking at the last photo!

Spring Break

We've had a busy Spring break with the boys both in swimming lessons all this week. Andrew had developed a bit of a fear of water between registering him for the class and it actually starting, but he has been going along with his class and participating which is great. Matthew who used to be timid in the water is really a fish now. What a difference a couple of years make! Emily has been enjoying splashing in the water while waiting for the boys and gets a lot of comments on how cute she looks in her swimsuit. I wish I could get some photos, but it is too hard when having to hold her in the water. Of course the real workout is wrangling myself and three children in and out of showers, swimsuits, etc. Other than that you can see some of the other things we've been up to through the photos. I loved the one of Emily in one of her new Spring dresses!
