Lake Louise

We went to Lake Louise around the Family Day long weekend.  This seems to be an annual trip for us now.  

The kids love staying in a hotel.  Here are Emily and Matthew taking a break from the TV to catch a snack, and a photo.  

Matthew is strong enough, and a good sport, to always give Andrew and Emily a pull on the sled.  

The Ice Sculptures around the Chateau were beautiful.  Others may have been more technically difficult to carve, but the train was the favorite of all the kids.

Bruce and Matthew got in quite a bit of downhill skiing.  Evidently Matthew is strong on the blue runs and doing some black diamond runs. The conditions were very good and they had a lot of fun.  There were not too many stops, except for the odd hot chocolate.   

I stuck to the cross country skiing and the conditions were super.  As I was skiing into town I came across this opening and the train was just coming through. It reminded me of a CP calendar shot with the beautiful scenery.  

Feb Fun

We have taken a bit of a break from the Blog this past while. We have been getting used to our new Apple computer and have finally learned how to download photos.  As well any spare time has been put towards planning for a new community playground which looks like it should be installed in May.   Here is a look at what the kids have been up to.  

Emily is still wishing her hair would grow!  She received some barrettes as a gift, but these are more for playing with at this point as her hair is still pretty short.

Emily loves getting herself up on some of the lower furniture like this couch in the kitchen to play with her toys or read her books (or "boo"s as she calls them). She has started to say a few more words like "ah haa" to mean she wants something, "dus" for juice, and still signs for "more" and a vigorous head shake for no.  

The boys love an early morning weekend board game.  Here still in PJs they are having fun with Monopoly.  Andrew gets to be the banker, while Matthew plays against the Bruce/Emily combo.  
Emily likes helping with cooking, and her she is decked out in a cute apron she received as a gift.  
Matthew built this Rocket ship, but kindly let Astronaut Andrew take it for a spin.  
Emily and Andrew like to drum together.  Once again the simple box gets as much playtime as all the cool toys.
